Rows wrong or missing?
Send us the shape of this statement, not its contents. The report below is made in this browser. It keeps where text sits, dates and column headings. Every name, amount, reference and account number is replaced with x and 1, as you can see. Nothing is sent until you send it.
Then email the report to support@statementtocsv.co.uk and say which bank it is from. We’ll add the layout and let you know.

Mettle is a business account app from NatWest Group, popular with sole traders and small limited companies. Mettle support is in beta: we haven’t tested a real Mettle statement yet, so check the result says “Verified” before importing it.
How to download your Mettle statement as a PDF
- Open the Mettle app.
- Look for Statements (often in the account or settings area).
- Choose the period and generate the PDF statement.
- Save or share the PDF to your computer.
Mettle can connect to some accounting software directly. If the business is connected, PDFs are mainly needed for months before the connection.
Menu names change from time to time and can differ between the app and the website. If you can’t find statements, search for “statements” in the app or online banking help.
What to check on your Mettle statement
Check your statement for a date, transaction details, money in, money out and a running balance.
Which export to choose
Pick the Xero or QuickBooks CSV to match the business’s software, or the CSV for Excel for spreadsheets.
Common issues with Mettle statements
- Feed overlap. Don’t import months already brought in by a direct connection, or you’ll duplicate transactions.
- Beta layout. If a row is flagged, compare it with the PDF and send a layout report.
- Linked to NatWest, but separate. Mettle’s statements are not the same as NatWest’s, so NatWest’s tested status doesn’t carry over.
Support status: beta
StatementToCSV reads statements by their columns, not with a fixed template for each bank, so some Mettle statements may already convert. But we haven’t yet tested a real Mettle statement, so we don’t claim support. Verified means every extracted row adds up to the balances printed on the statement. If you don’t see Verified, the converter shows you where the balances stopped adding up.
You can help: click Help us support this layout under the result. It creates a report of the statement’s layout in your browser, with every name, amount, reference and account number replaced by x and 1. Email it to support@statementtocsv.co.uk. When Mettle is tested, it will be announced on the updates page.
StatementToCSV is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Mettle. The name is used only to describe the statements the converter reads.
Questions people ask
Does StatementToCSV work with Mettle statements?
Mettle is in beta. Statements with standard columns may already convert, and the balance check shows whether every row was read.
Can I import Mettle statements into Xero or QuickBooks?
Yes. Convert the PDF and choose the matching CSV. Avoid overlapping with transactions already imported by a feed.
What if it doesn’t convert?
Send us an anonymised layout report from the converter.
