Rows wrong or missing?
Send us the shape of this statement, not its contents. The report below is made in this browser. It keeps where text sits, dates and column headings. Every name, amount, reference and account number is replaced with x and 1, as you can see. Nothing is sent until you send it.
Then email the report to support@statementtocsv.co.uk and say which bank it is from. We’ll add the layout and let you know.

Works with text PDFs that have Date, Description, Paid in / Paid out (or Amount) and Balance columns. Scanned or photographed statements are not supported yet. The samples are fictional test data.
RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) is part of NatWest Group, and NatWest statements are tested with real statements. RBS statements may look similar, but we haven’t tested a real RBS statement, so RBS stays in beta until we have. The balance check will tell you whether yours converted fully.
How to download your RBS statement as a PDF
- Log in to RBS digital banking.
- Select the account and look for Statements.
- Choose the period and download the PDF.
- In the RBS app, statements are usually available from the account screen.
Because RBS and NatWest share a banking group, the steps and menus are often very similar.
Menu names change from time to time and can differ between the app and the website. If you can’t find statements, search for “statements” in the app or online banking help.
What to check on your RBS statement
Check your statement for a date, a description, money in and money out columns and a running balance. If the money out column is headed “Withdrawn”, or pages start with a brought-forward balance, those are handled the same way as on NatWest statements.
Which export to choose
Choose the CSV for Excel for personal accounts, or the Xero or QuickBooks CSV for business accounts in accounting software.
Common issues with RBS statements
- Beta, despite the family resemblance. Similar-looking statements can still differ in small ways. That’s why RBS isn’t marked tested until real RBS statements have been checked.
- Withdrawn column. If the statement says “Withdrawn”, those amounts go into Paid out.
- Brought forward. If your pages start with a brought-forward line, it is used to check the pages join, then left out of the CSV.
Support status: beta
StatementToCSV reads statements by their columns, not with a fixed template for each bank, so some RBS statements may already convert. But we haven’t yet tested a real RBS statement, so we don’t claim support. Verified means every extracted row adds up to the balances printed on the statement. If you don’t see Verified, the converter shows you where the balances stopped adding up.
You can help: click Help us support this layout under the result. It creates a report of the statement’s layout in your browser, with every name, amount, reference and account number replaced by x and 1. Email it to support@statementtocsv.co.uk. When RBS is tested, it will be announced on the updates page.
StatementToCSV is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by RBS. The name is used only to describe the statements the converter reads.
Questions people ask
Does StatementToCSV work with RBS statements?
RBS is in beta. Its statements are likely to be similar to NatWest’s, which are tested, and every conversion is checked against the balances.
Why isn’t RBS marked as tested if NatWest is?
We only mark a bank as tested after checking its own real statements. A family resemblance isn’t enough.
