Works with text PDFs that have Date, Description, Paid in / Paid out (or Amount) and Balance columns. Scanned or photographed statements are not supported yet. The samples are fictional test data.

Barclays support is in beta: we haven’t yet tested a real Barclays statement. The converter reads statements by their column headings rather than by bank, so if your Barclays statement has date, description, money in, money out and balance columns, it may convert already. The balance check tells you straight away whether every row was read.

How to download your Barclays statement as a PDF

  1. Log in to Barclays online banking and select the account.
  2. Look for Statements and documents or Statements.
  3. Choose the statement you need and download it as a PDF.
  4. In the Barclays app, statements are usually reached from the account screen; look for Statements and save the PDF to your device.

Business customers may find statements in Barclays’ business banking service instead, under a similar statements menu.

Menu names change from time to time and can differ between the app and the website. If you can’t find statements, search for “statements” in the app or online banking help.

What to check on your Barclays statement

Check your statement for a date column, a description, money in and money out columns (or a single amount column) and a running balance. The converter finds columns by their headings, so the order they are printed in doesn’t matter.

Which export to choose

For your own records choose the CSV for Excel. For a Barclays business account kept in Xero or QuickBooks, choose that layout. Whatever you choose, check the result says “Verified” before you import it.

Common issues with Barclays statements

Support status: beta

StatementToCSV reads statements by their columns, not with a fixed template for each bank, so some Barclays statements may already convert. But we haven’t yet tested a real Barclays statement, so we don’t claim support. Verified means every extracted row adds up to the balances printed on the statement. If you don’t see Verified, the converter shows you where the balances stopped adding up.

You can help: click Help us support this layout under the result. It creates a report of the statement’s layout in your browser, with every name, amount, reference and account number replaced by x and 1. Email it to [email protected]. When Barclays is tested, it will be announced on the updates page.

StatementToCSV is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Barclays. The name is used only to describe the statements the converter reads.

Questions people ask

Does StatementToCSV work with Barclays statements?

Barclays support is in beta. Many statements with standard columns will convert, and the balance check shows whether every row was read. Send a layout report if one doesn’t.

Why isn’t Barclays listed as tested?

We only mark a bank as tested after converting real statements from it. The Barclays samples we have seen so far were not genuine bank output.

How can I help get Barclays fully supported?

Convert a statement and click “Help us support this layout”. The report hides every name, amount and number, and you choose whether to email it.
