Try a fictional sample:

Works with text PDFs that have Date, Description, Paid in / Paid out (or Amount) and Balance columns. Scanned or photographed statements are not supported yet. The samples are fictional test data.

Monzo support is in beta. We haven’t yet tested a genuine Monzo statement: the public sample we checked had been altered in an online PDF editor, so it can’t count as evidence. If your Monzo statement uses a single signed amount column (minus for money out) next to a balance, that is a layout the converter handles, and the balance check will show whether yours converted fully.

How to download your Monzo statement as a PDF

  1. Open the Monzo app and go to the account.
  2. Look for Statements or Bank statement (often under account settings or the account’s menu).
  3. Choose the date range and the PDF format.
  4. Save or share the PDF to your computer. Monzo’s web access, where available, may offer the same.

Monzo can create statements for any date range. For checking several months, monthly ranges are easiest, because each statement then has a clear opening and closing balance.

Menu names change from time to time and can differ between the app and the website. If you can’t find statements, search for “statements” in the app or online banking help.

What to check on your Monzo statement

Check whether your statement has separate money in and money out columns or a single amount column with minus signs for money out, and whether it prints a running balance. If you use Pots, check how transfers to and from them appear.

Which export to choose

Choose the CSV for Excel for personal use. Monzo Business users with Xero or QuickBooks can pick those layouts; check whether your accounting software already has a bank feed for the account first.

Common issues with Monzo statements

Support status: beta

StatementToCSV reads statements by their columns, not with a fixed template for each bank, so some Monzo statements may already convert. But we haven’t yet tested a real Monzo statement, so we don’t claim support. Verified means every extracted row adds up to the balances printed on the statement. If you don’t see Verified, the converter shows you where the balances stopped adding up.

You can help: click Help us support this layout under the result. It creates a report of the statement’s layout in your browser, with every name, amount, reference and account number replaced by x and 1. Email it to [email protected]. When Monzo is tested, it will be announced on the updates page.

StatementToCSV is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Monzo. The name is used only to describe the statements the converter reads.

Questions people ask

Does StatementToCSV work with Monzo statements?

Monzo is in beta. Single signed amount columns are supported, and every conversion is checked against the balances.

Why was a Monzo statement flagged as possibly edited?

The PDF showed text typed over other text, or was saved by a PDF editor. If it is your own statement, download a fresh copy from the app.

Can I convert Monzo Business statements?

Yes, if they use the same layout. Send a layout report if one doesn’t convert.
